Ballyhea Win Ann Potter Perpetual Cup 2019

The Ann Potter Perpetual Cup was held today in Bruree Sportsfield and what a day it was. This is our annual event and all 4 teams played there part in a wonderful sporting display showed by all the players. The weather was absolutely perfect especially after all the rain that fell yesterday and last night. The 4 teams involved were Bruree, Ballyhea, Crecora And Dromin Athlacca Banogue. Bruree played Crecora in one semi final with Crecora just coming out in top of that match. A brave effort by the bruree boys and girls. The second semi final was between Ballyhea and Dromin Athlacca Banogue with Ballyhea came out victorious in a well fought match.

The final was a cracker of a match between Ballyhea and Crecora. Ballyhea went ahead with early goals and led at half time by four points. Ballyhea extended there lead to seven points but Crecora battled superbly well in the second half and brought the score back to two points but ballyhea held on to win the Ann Potter Perpetual Cup for 2019. We congratulate Ballyhea and thank all the players from all clubs who today showed the unbelievable skills of Hurling which was a joy to watch by all the spectators.

To all the management teams of Bruree, Ballyhea, Crecora and Dromin Athlacca Banogue we thank each and every one of ye. We also thank our referee officials and umpires who done all four matches.

Mike Potter Presented The Ann Potter Perpetual Cup to the winning Ballyhea Captain Barry Kiely🏆.Mike Potter also presented all players with fantastic medals.All Players received treats afterwards and we thank the Bruree juvenile club for having all this ready. A special thanks to Owen Tobin and Paul Crotty for the hard work put in and having the field ready for today's matches, and to everyone else who helped out on the day as well.
